James 3:5-6 – 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

This week as I sit down to write what is on my heart, I think about how another summer has come and gone. As I think about this summer, I cannot help but think about my little garden.  It did pretty well this year.  Everything I planted, for the most part, produced very well.  The one thing that did not produce this year was my squash.  The reason it did not produce was all because of very tiny, little squash bugs that ate up the plant before it got a chance to produce.

The Bible tells us in James 3 that the tongue is a little member of our body, but if it is left unchecked, as I left the squash bugs unchecked, that it can do massive damage to our testimony.  It can destroy our ministry opportunities even before they get a chance to produce any fruits.
